On September 24th and 25th I will be riding in the Escape to the Cape and combining my joy of cycling and ride 100 miles to support a cause that is very important to me. Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1) is a genetic condition – passed on from parents to their children through genes. Alpha-1 may result in serious lung disease in adults and/or liver disease at any age. Alpha-1 has been identified in virtually all populations. About 1 in every 2,500 Americans has Alpha-1. The Alpha-1 Foundation is committed to finding a cure for Alpha-1 and to improving the lives of people affected by Alpha-1 worldwide.
