Alpha-1 Girl & Friends
Join us in our efforts to support the Alpha-1 Foundation in finding a cure for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency!
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency in 2016. Initially, this was such a scary diagnosis and my future seemed very uncertain. Since that time, thanks to the Alpha-1 Foundation and AlphaNet, I have learned so much about taking care of myself in order to have the best quality of life I can. I receive weekly infusions and will receive them for the rest of my life... unless a CURE is found!! This is where you come in. We need you!!! While Alpha-1 is a rare disease, it is also rarely diagnosed. The diagnosis is the blessing!! Spreading awareness leads to more people being diagnosed and receiving treatment sooner. I could never figure out why I was so sick all the time until I was diagnosed with A1AD...then it all made sense. The infusions help slow down the destruction of my lungs but unfortunately, they do not help my liver disease. The only "treatment" for Alpha-1 liver disease at the time is to get sick enough for a liver transplant or a cure. We need a cure. Since Alpha-1 is a rare disease and most people have never heard of it, we don't get the funding for research like other diseases do. Your donation, no matter how small, will continue to fund this research so that one day, those of us that suffer from Alpha-1 will be a thing of the past.
Would you please consider making a donation today? Your donation will help people like me get one step closer to a cure. If you are unable to donate, would you consider sharing this with your network in order to spread awareness? I am so grateful to all of you that continue to advocate for Alphas!
You can make a general donation to my team, or you can JOIN my team and for a $25 donation, you'll receive a rockin' t-shirt! You'd be surprised how many people ask me about Alpha-1 when I'm wearing one of my t-shirts. It's a great way to raise awareness!!!
Thanks so much and God bless you all!!
